Nokia 8600 Luna The Super Classy of the Nokia Cell Phones Family
March 5, 2008 – 12:26 pmThis is the latest member of the high class Nokia cell phones family. And you will not go unnoticed with this phone at all. Again, you have to consider that the style and exclusivity come with a price, but aren’t we all fashion victims ?
The rounded corners and smooth features give it an almost-futuristic appearance - as does the on-screen menu system. Yet inside it has all the familiarity and quality of a Nokia handset, with a 2 megapixel camera for photos and videos, an MP3 player for music and an enormous 1GB of built-in memory. Ignore the catwalk and take a look at mobile phone design instead.
Luna is impossible to compare to regular handsets. There’s a lot lacking in terms of functionality: memory card, Mass Storage mode, miniUSB, 3G support, high-quality camera. Quite a few downsides, but all those seem exactly the functions people likely to buy a Luna will usually overlook. There are plenty of lifestyle gadgets to do all those jobs.
And then, the Luna has some aspects worth praising: the perfect display, fast user interface and exquisite bodywork. The handset is beautifully crafted and probably very durable. After all, the Luna excels at what it will be most likely used for: calling, messaging, and getting noticed. No doubt about that last one.
All in all, a superb tool to make your way in the urban jungle. And to be able to do it in style, too.
